For an outdoor photographer, Switzerland is a magical place. With picturesque villages, local people in costume and spectacular mountains, there are more scenes to photograph than there is time. When visiting Switzerland, hiking boots replaced the bicycle of the Vineyard. All of these pictures were taken when either hiking or climbing.
Martha’s Vineyard is an idyllic place for all. But when one tours the island on a bicycle with a camera, the possibilities are endless. All but one of these photographs was taken from a bicycle. The exception is the schooner silhouetted by the sunset; it was taken when approaching the island on the ferry from the mainland.
